Even the state name which was taken from an Indian word, "Tejas" means friendship!

Because of its vast size and range of elevations, Texas has a varied climate with one main characteristic - miles of blue sky and sunshine! Be sure to bring along a good sun screen when visiting Texas as living and recreation are keyed to the great outdoors. While summers in Texas can be down right warm - with highs sometime in the triple digits - the winters are delightful! It is not unusual to see folks in attire usually reserved for the summer season in the middle of December!
